Jewish Humor Website Jewlarious.com Releases Short Film Titled "Boycotting Israel"
Jerusalem, Israel (PRWEB) July 2, 2007 -- Aish.com (www.aish.com), the leading Judaism website, and Jewlarious.com (www.jewlarious.com), the leading Jewish humor website, have released a short film titled "Boycotting Israel" (http://www.aish.com/movies/israelboycott.asp) that addresses the unfortunately timely issue of boycotts against Israel. Presently, the British University and College Union is discussing a motion to boycott all Israeli academics. Some groups on college campuses across North America and Europe have lobbied for similar action. Other campaigns on the Internet encourage people to boycott all Israeli products and actually list Israeli companies and the products that they manufacture.
These boycott attempts run counter to the spirit of free and open academic inquiry. But beyond this is a great irony: not only do they hurt Israelis, but they hurt Palestinians, too. This was made evident recently by Sari Nusseibeh, president of the Palestinian al-Quds University located in East Jerusalem, who said that Israeli Academics have been amongst the most progressive and peace-minded people around the world, and that boycotting them would hurt the cause of peace in the Middle East.
With this as a backdrop, Boycotting Israel takes a humorous look at what the world would look like if people actually followed through on their boycott attempt. The result is outrageous.
Boycotting Israel stars Lindsay Ames, Dan Galea, Richard Rabkin and Josh Rachlis, and was directed by Josh Rachlis who has worked for over 10 years in advertising and television. The film was edited by Jason Grebeski, and the sound was mixed by Ian Morris at RMW Music.
